'Irreducible Complexity' by Efrain Palermo. 27" x 28" x 1 1/2"

For Sale $1,500

My art is abstract, however it starts out with an idea or a concept and the painting grows from it like a snowflake defined by its seed particle. in this case I was inspired by the magic of biological nano-machines and wonder as to the source of their designs.

The bacterial flagellum motor is another nano biological machine, but this one so resembles an electric motor that it gave rise to the theory of irreducible complexity and intelligent design as championed by the biochemist Dr. Michael J.Behe.

The stick-like figures represents Kinesins, this motor protein transports material inside a cell.
